Dr Kiran Veerapen

Dr. Kiran Veerapen is a Rheumatologist by training. She received her training in Rheumatology in the United Kingdom and practiced in Malaysia from 1986-2004. During this time she was actively involved in founding and establishing professional and lay organizations related to the specialty (Malaysian Society of Rheumatology; Arthritis Foundation, Malaysia; Arthritis Fund, Malaysia).

Currently Dr. Veerapen is an interdisciplinary doctoral candidate at the University of Victoria. Her research explores the impact of uniprofessional medical and nursing education on the ability to practice collaboratively. She is also involved with Faculty Development and teaching at the Island Medical Program, University of British Columbia Medical School.
