Tan Sri Dato’ Muhammad Ali is currently the President and Chief Executive of Johor Corporation, and has been the CEO for more than 28 years.
Tan Sri Muhammad Ali graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Economics (Honors) degree in 1969.
Johor Corporation is a Johor State Government-linked Corporation. It is to date one of Malaysia’s leading business conglomerates, comprising more than 280 member companies and employing more than 65,000 employees in Malaysia as well as regionally.
Seven of these member entities are listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange, with one PLC listed on Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea), as well as London Stock Exchanges.
Total market capitalization of these eight PLC entities stood at RM 10.4 billion at December 2009 (with JCorp Group’s holdings amounting to RM5 billion). For the financial year 2009, JCorp Group’s annual turnover amounted to RM 8.2 billion.
Among JCorp’s strategic businesses include Palm Oils (Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad), Healthcare (KPJ Healthcare Berhad); Food & Restaurants (KFC, Pizza Hut & Rasamas outlets in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Cambodia), Hotels, Industrial and Commercial Property; Intrapreneur Venture; Shipping and Logistics.
Muhammad Ali is also the Deputy President of the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce (MICC); Chairman, Corporate Bureau of MICC; and Chairman, Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad.
